Revelation 22:16-17
I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David; the Bright and Morning Star. The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” He who hears, let him say, “Come!” He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.
This last instruction from Jesus, describes the call to spread the Gospel very clearly. More clearly than other times it is in the gospels. Note especially These 3 points that are present. 1. the spirit, the church, and the members all help to spread the gospel. 2. the gospel is for those who desire it. 3. the gospel comes without cost.
Everyone who hears (and understands) the gospel is commissioned to spread it. The Call to spread the gospel isn't for the few but for the many.
The Gospel is for those who desire it. It is not our job to change people's hearts and minds, only to make them aware. That is, scare tactics, coercive tactics, bright and shiny packaging are not required.
The water of life is to be given for free. No entrance exams, no charge for weekly sermons, the CD is not for sale after the show.
